Help kids in Uganda

Wisekids foundation

Welcome to Wisekids foundation (WKF). We are connecting hearts with community by supporting vulnerable kids in Uganda through education and healthcare.

Rural schools in central Uganda are overloaded with pupils in every class and it's becoming very difficult to provide quality education and healthcare to each kid. With majority of rural families living on less than $3 per day, many can't afford healthcare and school necessities.

WKF knows that quality education and healthcare at primary school is critical in laying a foundation of the child's development in early years and for lifelong learning.

We work relentlessly on improving education and healthcare in our rural communities through our volunteering program.

School kids in Uganda

Our Space

Our approach

We partner with schools in our community, work together to establish and maintain sustainable programs of improving healthcare and providing quality education for the children. To do this, we create educational and healthcare projects within primary schools and see them through with the help of volunteers. This holistic approach enables us to do more through projects, reach more needy kids and utilize resources while maintaining very low running costs. You can help us by volunteering in Uganda or donating to our cause.

Volunteers

This is a unique volunteering program that will allow you to use your skills and explore. There is a lot you can do as a volunteer: teach, share your knowledge, help with school trips, create projects and much more. WKF facilitates your stay and ensures your safety during the volunteering program.

School trips

Students visit the Wisekids foundation schools in Uganda participating in educational and health programs. The students will have a chance to learn about our cultures, participate in exciting, change-making programs, and tour our country. These are all valuable learning opportunities that will have a positive impact on both students and the WKF community partners as they increase awareness of the world we live in. The programs involve partnering with rural schools to address education and health challenges within the schools.

Programs

These are some of the programs that help in our mission of providing for kids.

Playground construction

Playground construction

The best learning experience for students requires both indoor learning and outdoor physical activity. The kids need to experience unstructured play which helps support their physical health increasing their chances to succeed in the classroom. Become part of the wise kids' play by helping in playground construction and donating play items.

Rooftop water harvesting

Rooftop water harvesting

Many rural schools face water scarcity leading to thirst, late classes, poor hygiene, and poor sanitation yielding life–threatening illnesses. Rainwater harvesting follows a simple low-cost technique that is easy to maintain and offers many benefits to the schools. Clean water and sanitation are key to the kid’s health at school. A water harvesting unit worth $1000 will make a huge positive change toward the school's health and sanitation. Join this by volunteering in water tank construction or donating a water unit.

Desks for children

Desks for children

The lack of desks in many rural schools remains a huge problem hindering quality for the kids. Without a proper workspace, students face a serious academic disadvantage. By helping create a proper learning workspace you will improve the learning experience of these kids in rural communities. Get involved by donating desks or assisting in classroom setup projects.

Health education

Health education

Children growth, mind and body are often stunted due to poor health education. Health education is a strategy for implementing disease prevention and health promotion in schools and community households. This program includes community education programs to improve health education to parents themselves. You can participate in this program by sharing knowledge, and participating in community outreach camps, designing projects and more.

Educate a child
